I wanted to take this opportunity
to introduce to you the Make (pronounced ma-gay; which means mother,
technically BoMake, because there are more than one) that are working at our
care points. This past Friday I had the pleasure of meeting 10 wonderful women
who have been serving the children at 9 of our centralized care points. This
was an exciting and overwhelming time for me. I finally got to meet the women
that I came here to work with!
We had a
team here from Vanguard Church in Colorado. Over the past four years they have
invested in these women as they have come to visit their care point. This was
more of a blessing to me then I had realized when I first heard about this
opportunity. Holly led our time and really wanted to give the teachers a chance
to express their desires for the children as they were introduced to me. I was
blown away! Some of the requests were huge and seemingly impossible, at least
in a timely manner, but I did tell the women that I would join them in praying
for their heart’s desires. While I was overwhelmed by the gravity of what the
teachers “expected” from me, Holly was blown away by how open and willing to
share the women were. In the past the women had been very closed off to sharing
anything and they were willing to express their desires freely. As I reflected
on that I know that I would not have been able to get the same reaction out of
them if I had done something on my own to introduce myself to them.
I am asking
that you would pray with us as we seek the Lord to fulfill the desires of these
ladies hearts. Pray for wisdom for me as I work with them to find simple
solutions to their desires, though maybe not what they wanted, but something
that would make their situation in teaching easier and better. Please pray also
that I would have wisdom and grace as I work with these wonderful women.
Here they are: on the back row from left to right, Siphiwe
(Ntabamhloshana, Ntabas), Xolile (Bhalekane), Thulie (Timbutini), Sbongile
(Mkhombokati), front row from left to right Sheila (Enaleni), Nancy (Enaleni),
Zodwa (Thulwane), Lindiwe (Thembeni), Gcebile (Bheveni), Monicah (Bhobokazi)
Megan, I am in agreement with you in prayer. The King of Kings is everything and everything was created for Him. I ask the Lord Jesus to give you a vision of how Jesus sees these women and that you would be filled with that love and compassion for them. The old is gone and the new has come. Thank you Father in Jesus name.
The blessing of faith! We have a big God, so we ask big things!
The Lord is the Provider, though He often uses people. Just try not to stress over your role. Let God do the work!
It’s great to see you there, and great to hear your stories. We love you!
Sawubona sisi Megan!
It was so good meeting you in Swaziland back in September and I’m glad to have found your blog. It was so good to see Gcebile’s smiling face in your photo. We are so blessed to know she is teaching and caring for our beloved Bheveni children.
Next time you see her, give her greetings from Thandeka Lom Khulu!
Sala kahle,
Elysa
